Build a Bluebird box! 

Join us on Tuesday, April 17 from 11-2 pm at the WPNR Learning Barn to build an Eastern Bluebird box to be installed on our trails. It's a great way to help the environment for Earth Month! No registration necessary, all materials provided, visit anytime during the workshop.

Tire Recycling Event

Saturday, April 14 8:30 am - 12:00 pm

Westmoreland Cleanways Recycling Center

113 Innovative Lane, Latrobe

The Westmoreland Conservation District's West Nile Virus Program is collaborating with Westmoreland Cleanways and Recycling for this event. Every tire recycled during the event will be accepted for $1 off the regular fee schedule. The event is being held at Westmoreland Cleanways Recycling Center at 113 Innovative Lane, Latrobe. Groups cleaning up tires from illegal dump sites must register with the 2018 Great American Cleanup of PA to receive free tire recycling on April 14, 2018. Businesses are not eligible for the recycling discount.

4/19 – Birding in the Digital Age, 10AM-12PM: Celebrate Earth Day by learning how to incorporate technology and citizen science into a fun outdoor activity. Bring your device of choice (phone, tablet, laptop, etc.) to the James Kell Visitor Center where we’ll go over how it can be a useful tool for birding.

 4/20 – Family Science Night: Earth Day Every Day, 5:30-7:30: Stop by the James Kell Visitor Center between 5:30 and 7:30 for fun family activities that show why the environment is so important and how you and your family can make Earth Day every day!
